As you may have seen here, Joyent is working with Linksys One (a division of Cisco) to provide unified messaging for millions of small and medium-sized teams worldwide. We’d like to share some of the additional projects Joyent is working to complete in conjunction with our work with Linksys One.
Joyent has always been much more than a collaboration software and hosting company. We’re building the next generation computing platform that will provide applications built for Connector users and the hosting environment necessary for developers to create those applications. End users (both Connector and developer) will benefit from infrastructure designed to help developers stand up new network applications easily and at lower costs than Linux on White Boxes. Our work has allowed us to offer a very flexible platform that scales from very small, the single developer working away on the next-big-thing, all the way up to resources required by Joyent Connector with thousands of organizations (and with Linksys One, millions).
In the coming weeks and months, Joyent will be releasing enhancements to our Core Suite of Mail, Calendar, People, Files. We’ve been listening to our customers as well as paying attention to the evolving landscape for hosted applications. We are also hard at work finishing applications that will allow customers to move most word processing, tabular data, presentations, voice, chat, and other productivity applications to the web. These applications will be offered to our current customers as free add-ons to their existing Connector software.
This is a great time to be developing on the network. We’d like to thank everyone for your continued support.
