The plot of The Protector is so-so, but Tony Jaa …?
Tony Jaa kicks all kinds of ass.
First time I’ve felt like I was watching “a Bruce Lee” since Bruce Lee.

Yeah, went to go see The Illusionist Thursday, saw the poster for The Protector outside the cinema, but for some reason, they weren’t actually showing it… They just had a poster for it. Fortunately, other theatres in the area actually are. By the way, if you like Tony Jaa and you haven’t already seen it, definitely pick up Ong Bak on Netflix.
The plot was that of a bad, oooooold chinese kung fu flick… but, shot in 2005. I love the train whistle that blows across the city, and the extreme rollerbladers and bmx’ers come and attack.
Otherwise, the ass kicking was great. The bone breaking scene was classic. Rent it !
Had you not seen Ong Bak? For years I’d been wanting someone to make a Bruce Lee film again—a martial arts flick without the digital cheating. Ong Bak was that film, I agree 100% about Tony Jaa, and I am looking forward to seeing The Protector.
I haven’t seen Ong Bak. Going to go find it.
