So has the issue with the SS# being passed along in cleartext been addressed? I’m interested in this, but I’m a bit weirded out right now when the shareasale site is asking me for this info…

Be very careful. When you sign up with these people, they send you your password in cleartext. After you’ve given your Social Security number. With no way to change the password in their web interface.

I hope Textdrive/Joyent finds a better host for their affiliate program soon.

The signup form still lets people choose a software project to support, which promises “TextDrive will pay 50% of the profits from your subscription to the developer.”

As far as I know this program has not been active for at least a year, is the signup form going to be updated to reflect this? Or if the plan is to continue the program how does it interact with affiliates?

Just to make sure I understand correctly. With the affiliate program, a person gets 10-15% of all revenues generated by the customers they refer?

If that’s the case – that’s AWESOME.

Meaning, if I direct Joe Smith to signup for a TextDrive account, I get creditted 10-15% of each months bill invoiced to Joe Smith.
